Every time you think that you’ve seen everything it has to offer, it changes. Sometimes Buckskin is dry. Sometimes it’s a wet, sloppy mess. You worry about rain. You worry about heat. You worry about cold. Buckskin keeps you on your toes. But it’s worth it. Always. It keeps drawing us back, year after year. If you haven’t gone to buckskin yet, you need to go. It is an amazing place. Oh, and it will ruin slot canyons for you forever. If you want to visit Buckskin Gulch, simply type “Buckskin Gulch permits” into Google and it will bring up the government website. Permits are required. There are several different ways you can approach the hike; Buckskin Gulch, Whitehouse, Wire Pass or Lee’s Ferry are the main entry/exit points.
